Dad
Regardless of my age, if my dad saw me about to do something imprudent he would say, “boy, step back and think on it a bit more”. He has been gone a long time but I think I just heard him say it again. Wise man he was but sometimes kids just have to ignore their parents.
From the stories I hear from your boyhood buddies in upstate NY I’m sure your Dad uttered that phrase more than once. I think in this case, considering your advancing age, that he’ll be okay with the newest toy. Enjoy !!
