I walked through the front door of 57 Queen St for my first day of work. How wonderful that 40 years later I still love what I do and still have the deepest of respect for my employer.
Back then, the gentlemen wore conservative suits, conservative tie, conservative foot ware and were expected to present an all around professional appearance. A very few, like me, got away with unconventional long hair. I was part of the changing of the guard as the current owner built his team.
Today I do not own a suit and not sure where my few ties are. A few in our office still dress in the old style and it makes them stand out – in a positive way. Some traditions are good.
