For Charlottetown angels….
The nurses of unit one at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. I recently spent five days in the surgical unit in a ward with four patients. Two of the patients were in their 90s, had broken their hips and had severe dementia. These patients were unable to care for themselves for even basic requirements and spent most of their time screaming at the top of their lungs.
With one notable exception all of the nurses were exemplary in their treatment of these poor souls. They were patient, kind and professional in looking after the intense needs these patients. I am humbled.
